DarkAngel 0 Posted March 3, 2001 I gotta question.. I am an avid gamer + music mixer, and I have an Aureal Vortex 2 SuperQuad 2500, but Aureal is long gone out of business. How does Microsoft plan to deal with this? All the Win2K drivers for it are beta WDM and don't work in many games or A3D apps. Will XP support 9x drivers? That would be the best, or will MS release their own set? Share this post Link to post
JBrave715 0 Posted March 3, 2001 It isn't MS's job to support 3D cards that are no longer supported by the company that made them. They won't make any with D3D support. You're going to have to upgrade or stick with 98/me... Share this post Link to post
jdulmage 0 Posted March 3, 2001 Aureal Vortex cards will be supported in the final release of Windows XP Share this post Link to post
JBrave715 0 Posted March 3, 2001 But will it have reliable 3D support? Hmmm.... Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted March 3, 2001 It's a sound card. So, for A3D sound, maybe. But I don't think D3D would be an issue with this particular piece of hardware. ------------------ Regards, clutch Share this post Link to post
Vampyr 0 Posted March 3, 2001 It should support your card. I suggest upgrading your card to something a little better... i suggest either a preofessional card from Guillemont or the new philips Acoustic Edge. Yes the sblive is good but it just doesn't cut it when it comes to audio recording Share this post Link to post
