Zone Alarm and XP?

Tried using it, saying it didn't work is an understatement. The system rebooted as soon as it loaded it up. Had to go into safemode and remove all the registry bits manually since it never fully finished the install. Anybody else have this problem? I kindof like ZA with the big yes/no for proggies trying to get at the net since I had a trojan once which it stopped. That and the built in firewall, which I just turned on, seems not to be doing anything. That and I'm dumb, so the big yes/no is up my alley

no firewalls will work with XP at this moment unless it is the one built in to whistler.

oh i havent tried that. Ive only tried BID and ZoneAlarm. So i guess I was wrong @Gaurd works fine with XP.

well on everything i used minus the post beta-1 builds it didnt work. Thx for the info i will throw BID back on later =)

how do u get BID 2.5cg to work under WinXP build 2446 for some reason i can't and also how do u configure WinXP's firewall to work with G6 FTP server. Becuase when i try to set it up i can log in to my server from a remote computer but then when my server goes goes into passive mode it trys to use another port than what i setup in the firewall. so how do i set up WinXP's firewall to use any port instead of just one port.

read blackice c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y after you install it, you'll see that it says "firewall layer could not be loaded" or something to that context.

 

Therefore, BID does NOT work. Perhaps an old version does or something, I dunno.
