news 28 Posted May 17, 2016

Good morning editors!

Today we review the "Founder's Edition" of the soon-to-be-released NVIDIA GeForce 1080 graphics card, featuring the new G104 GPU based on the 16nm FinFET Pascal architecture with 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs. It's a fancy name for a reference board, but what a board it is.

The card also features a 1607/1733 MHz core/boost clock and 8192MB of GDDR5X RAM with a 320 GB/s memory bandwidth and a 1250 MHz (10 GHz effective) clock that all promises to add up to double the performance of the GeForce Titan X series.

Basically the card has what NVIDIA dubs the "world's most advanced GPU". Naturally it hungers for nothing less than 4K gaming, not to mention offering nearly triple the performance for the shiny new virtual reality technology that's finally making its way to consumers. It's also optimized to make the most of multi-display setups and even curved screens.

http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-founders-edition/

"It's a GTX 1080 made to the rigorous standards of NVIDIA for users that want the "reference" look, and it will always be available for purchase even towards the product's end of life cycle. The price premium is probably in place to avoid any conflicts between the Founders Edition cards and products offered by NVIDIA's board partners down the road."

Thanks as always for any linkage!

Neoseeker Hardware
http://www.neoseeker.com/

hardware ( -at -) neoseeker.com

Share this post Link to post
