emthompson 0 Posted April 27, 2001 I have a Soyo K7VTA (VIA Chipset) board running a Thundirbird 1ghz processor with 384mb of pc 133 ram on a win2k platform. My problem is that I am getting marks comparable to a PIII 600 in the memory benchmark section of SiSoft Sandra (I know that sandra isn't meant for 2000). I was wondering why this might be. I have been noticing that my computer doesn't seem to respond like a 1ghz should. I did have a problem with my hard drive (Western Digital Caviar? 30gb 7200rpm UATA 100) having slow access speeds. I found a sit e that told me how to fix this through the registry. It has bumped the transfer speed way up. I thought that was my problem but I'm still experiencing the general slowness. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted April 27, 2001 I would also like to know about this topic. Seems my hard drive speed seems to get slower as the days go on... Share this post Link to post
emthompson 0 Posted April 27, 2001 What kind of hard drive do you have? If you have a Western digital I can go find the web Address for you of that fix that I found. The hard drive problem was only with the VIA chisets. Share this post Link to post
