How to force IE to open links in maximized windows?

Recommended Posts

Ever since I was browsing around in Help in Win2K and opened an IE link, all the links that open new windows open them in a half window pane. Anyone know how to force IE to open new links in maximized windows?

I know if you right click an IE shortcut and goto Properties that on the Shortcut tab you can chooose what size where it says "Run:"

After you open IE by clicking on a link, stretch the windows so that it covers the entire screen. IE will then use this size as the default windows size. Until another program resizes it, of course.

Thanks OlEerror. I got the window almost maximized. Anyone know how to get it maximized? I searched through Internet Options and Folder Options, etc, but can't find anything.

Hello,

Not exactly sure what you want to do. But you can change the default size that IE opens up by:

1. Open IE and maximize it.

2. Hold down CTRL and go to File > Close

The next time you open explorer, it should be maximized.

This works for most MS apps i believe.
