bytemangler 0 Posted May 7, 2001 I have a Iwill k266-R with T-bird 800. I wanted to try overclocking it but I have no prior experience on overclocking. Any with this board can provide a step by step for me. Thanks Share this post Link to post
INFERNO2000 0 Posted May 7, 2001 in the BIOS, you can bump up the FSB. if you want to play around with multipliers(change yur 800 to a 1000 by changing the 100x8 to 100x10), you'll need to pencil the L1s. for INDEPTH info, www.amdmb.com has a forum dedicated to IWILL motherboards. I have a KK266 in the mail replacing my A7V133(I needed the extra PCI)...hopefully I'll be able to hit 1466 on this one too(I ahve a 1.1 AVHA). Most important thing is to make sure you have a GOOD heatsink. not the crappy retail one--get a Globalwin, Alpha, or ThermoEngine. If you have money, time, and demand the best, do like me and get a Swiftech MC 462a.(d4mn things are 80 bucks and take a month to arrive). Share this post Link to post
bytemangler 0 Posted May 7, 2001 Thanks, I'll try that. I think I'll try the multiplier instead of the FSB. Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted May 8, 2001 I should put out a warning that your PCI bus and components as well as the AGP bus will run out of spec the higher you go. However the trade off for it is great bandwith. The best way though is OCing using both the FSB and the mulitplier. Share this post Link to post
