ThC 129 0 Posted May 7, 2001 Anyone know of any disk defraggers that work in XP?? Diskeeper doesnt, Speed disk doesnt. Those are the only 2 ive heard of and seen that are relatively good. Share this post Link to post
Mooxooh 0 Posted May 7, 2001 Try OO Defrag - better than any symantec and scientology crap -> http://www.oosoft.de/index-e.html Regards Share this post Link to post
ThC 129 0 Posted May 8, 2001 because when i installed DK6 it overwrote the built in crippled version of diskeeper. Share this post Link to post
isochar 0 Posted May 8, 2001 Guess you're SOL until you uninstall that and reinstall WinXP. There won't be any defragmenters that support WinXP until the release date gets close. (The new 5.1 NT system makes it incompatible with all available software) Share this post Link to post
luders 0 Posted May 9, 2001 I used the OO defrager just fine in XP. -Aaron Share this post Link to post
isochar 0 Posted May 9, 2001 Perhaps it already supports the new NTFS? If not, I wonder if there are any repercussions? (ie. Chance of data corruption) Share this post Link to post
Gear 0 Posted May 12, 2001 Diskeeper 6 does work, you just need to use start, programs, accessories, system tools, disk defrag. Regards Jeffrey Share this post Link to post
