CrashNBurn 0 Posted May 9, 2001 I've disabled some startup progs through MSCONFIG, but now MSCONFIG keeps starting up everytime I turn on/restart my computer. Is there some way to keep it from doing this? Thanks CrashNBurn Share this post Link to post
Questionnaire 0 Posted May 9, 2001 Yup... You'll have to go into the reg and do a search for "run" or "run once" and you'll find "msconfig" somewhere in the startup gak! Just delete the key and no more msconfig popping up! Now I never disable startup gak from msconfig or any other utils I used to use. I just kill it at a registry level. Goodluck! CrashNBurn 0 Posted May 9, 2001 Thanks a lot for the help. Is this some sort of bug in the XP beta (or "feature" since it's Microsoft)? Is this a universal problem everybody's having, or is it just limited to me? Thanks CrashNBurn Share this post Link to post
Questionnaire 0 Posted May 10, 2001 Quote: (or "feature" since it's Microsoft)? ROTFL@That! Yeppers, everyone I know has ran into that "feature" Actualy....Joking aside....If it was a bug, wouldnt it have been fixed by now? Because I remember it happening in the older builds too! Oh well....Just kill startup 'gak' at a reg' level. Share this post Link to post
