Adam Conrad, on behalf of the Ubuntu Release Team, reminds us that Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) was released almost five years ago, and that the support period will reach end of life (EOL) on Thursday, April 28th. === Ubuntu 12.04 ESM (Extended Security Maintenance) ===

 

Dustin Kirkland of Canonical writes that while Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is reaching End of Life, Canonical is offering Extended Security Maintenance (ESM) for Ubuntu Advantage customers. Users of 12.04 LTS are recommended to update to 14.04 LTS or 16.04 LTS, but for those customers who cannot, 12.04 ESM now continues support for core packages in 12.04.
