Amnesiac 0 Posted May 13, 2001 Lately when I play games, sometimes not at all, but just at off the wall times my computer locks up. Sometimes I can save my comp via task manager, but other times its a hard lock up, I don't understand why its doing this at all, Any suggestions on multiple things I could try to fix this? -Amnesiac Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted May 13, 2001 Firstly, do you have the latest patches and drivers? Also, if you dont have the AMD Win2k patch for pc using the Athlon or Duron, I'll post the link for you. If you dont have Service Pack 1, I would suggest grabbing that at least too. Are you overclocking anything at all? Also, check your cas timings in bios. If they are set to 2, try setting them to 3 and then see if you continue with the lockups. Im just as perplexed as you are, so try this and see what happens. Share this post Link to post
Amnesiac 0 Posted May 13, 2001 Thanks for trying:-) But I think I solved the problem....I got bored and decided to get win2k to check my disks and well it found errors and windows repaired them and nothing is locking up anymore, lets hope I'm not shoving my foot in my mouth in a few minutes:-) If anything else happens, i'll surely take your advice, thanks again -Amnesiac Share this post Link to post
