Best Iomega with 2000Pro, parellel port or USB?

Recommended Posts

Getting closer every day to reformating my HD, getting rid of Win98SE and installing 2000Pro. In fact, should start the process during Memorial Day weekend, so I have time to do it several times. (a joke, I hope!)

My question today is am I better of using a SCSI Iomega Zip Drive, a parallel port Zip Drive or, if there is such a thing, a USB Zip Drive. While my preference is for a 250K USB, I'm more concerned that the install go as smoothly as possible.

Suggestions from past experience would help a lot!

I dont know about SCSI, never using one before, but since its transfer rates are so low, SCSI isnt worth that investment. USB is good enough, and parallel port will work, but USB is faster.

So USB is the best choice and it should go just fine. My Zip100 USB works great!:D

I wouldn't invest in a SCSI version if I didn't already have a SCSI card installed.

In that situation I'd take the USB one every time.

If however you already have a SCSI sub-system, then go for it.

I have an internal SCSI ZIP 100 and love it - couldn't actually live without it!
