2474 or 2475 - ready for prime time?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks - is XP 2474 or 2475 ready for prime time yet as your primary OS? I tried beta2 and some pre-beta2's but ran into problems with games, my highpoint controller (which I am no longer using - have a Promise 100 controller instead) and various unexplained crashes. If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them. TIA.

im not even convinced at this point 74 was a real build or one that was supposed to be released. 75 so far seems pretty good once you disable activation for a longer evaluation period of course. I need to see if my VIA BM drivers work on it or not and how it performs in games but i hope it is good if not better than 2465

Thanks - I will ditch the 2474 download and find a place to grab 2475. I wouldn't mind installing it but I have really not liked what it does to existing NTFS partitions (without asking, btw).

2474 is running awesomely on my box. I also upgraded my monitor to a 19 incher and EVERYTHING looks so awesome.

I am gonna stay with this build till rc-1 comes out. I have 2475 but based on all I have read, there's just not enough difference to expend the time to install it.

2475 is an actual non-internal build unlike 2474 was. There are A LOT of things broken in 2474 like rundll, compatability modes, and a lot of other things.

I've just installed 2475, this is by for the best build so far.

The only thing I haven't been able to get working is norton antivirus 7.0. I guess version 7.5 works fine..Myst 3 works, 3dmark2001 works now, Boots much faster. IE is faster.
