Boxter_IV 0 Posted May 31, 2001 Good evening all. Need a little help. I am trying to run Need For Speed 4 High Stakes on my Win 2000 Pro Box. Keep getting the error that I must be running Win 9x to install. I have tried coping the setup file short cut to my Desktop and tried the new Compatibility Mode. However, I still get the error that I have to have Win 9x to run the program. I checked on the web site and saw some patch. However, the directions are nt to clear and there was mention to a file that is supposed to install when you get the failure, but I cannot see it (yes, it set up to see all files). Any ideas? I love this game and would love to be able to play it again. Please help. Thanks, Boxter If it matters: AMD 1.3 Ghz 348MB PC 133 30 GIG WD HD Geforce 2 32 MB Elsa Card SB Live Value! Boxter_IV 0 Posted June 4, 2001 I was able to find a patch that was given to me by another user here. However, in order to use the patch you have to be able to start the install of the game. It states to use the Win 95 Compat. mode. However, even when modifing the shortcut, it still will not start the load. Damn it! Any ideas? Share this post Link to post
