DosFreak 2 Posted June 3, 2001 What error do you get? I don't have the game but have you tried the fixes in the Whistler Application Compatibility Toolkit? Share this post Link to post
imtim83 0 Posted June 3, 2001 i dont get any error. It installs the game without anything i use but the game just doesnt startup ever. like i double click on the game icon and it asks me direct x or opengl i tried both and neither worked. All it did was blink the screen like went to a black screen and back to my desktop. i tried those Whistler Application Compatibility Toolkit that you have posted before which are very nice i think but it didnt work on the game. i tried each fix. Tried everything just about i think and thank you for the reply on linux. for some reason mandrake 8.0 linux didnt like my computer the last time i installed it because it froze overnight on the screen. i guess its my proview 860 montior which is supported really or my hardware. i got a abit KT7A raid mobo duron 800mhz 256 mb of sdram pc133 cas 2 voodoo 3 2000 pci 45 gig maxtor 7200 rpm ATA 100 < 8.7 ms seek time etc . DosFreak 2 Posted June 3, 2001 I had problems with the install freezing when installing to an HD that was SLAVE to another Ide. Make sure your installing to primary. You could also try the newest ver of Redhat. It's 4cd's tho if you want all the stuff. But the install is pretty cool and about as neat looking as Mandrake's. Share this post Link to post
imtim83 0 Posted June 3, 2001 why not slackware 7.1? i hear it does what you tell it to do. Very stable but i do know its pretty hard Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted June 3, 2001 Well it's pretty bare in the applications that it has. Redhat/Mandrake include ALOT of different programs that can introduce ya to what's out there. Plus they are alot more informative. heh. A linux kernel on a floppy is small and does what you want it to do too but it isn't going to teach you much. Share this post Link to post
