Emulation Mode

Recommended Posts

Where can I find the screen in W2k that allows me to "trick" the program into thinking that it's running under a different OS, like 98?

Thanks

NikeShox what is it exactly you are trying to do?i mean why do you want to make a program think that it's running in win9x?are you trying to run a DOS game that simply doesn't run on win2k?

i don't really know how to do this trick and i don't think that you can actually do this(correct me if i'm wrong guys). The only solution to this is running a win9x emulator in win2k but such program doesn't exist!any other ideas?

I read in a magazine( PCGamer, i think) that for programmes that give you trouble in 2wk, you can "trick" the system to think that it's running in 98 native. I'm running a game, Freespace 2, that is very choppy. I can't believe it's my system, as I'm running an AMD 1ghz, 512 ram and a GeForce2 MX. The system requirements are something like 200mhz...

The only thing i can think of is that the game isn't rated for W2k and maybe something can be done...

Thanks for the reply,

if you have sp2 and the latest application compatability patch make a shortcut to the program you want to run, then under properties of that shortcut there should be a compatability tab. You can choose the emulation mode there.
