CyberGit 0 Posted July 1, 2001 The expansion pack for Diablo II that was released on Firday (29th July) will not install on Windows XP beta. I have tested it on Win2K and it's fine. Anyone Any thoughts? Cyber Share this post Link to post
fubak 0 Posted July 1, 2001 Hey man, I am dual booting WinXP and WinME. I had to install Diablo 2 and the Expansion in WinME and then I could run it fine from WinXP. I think the Alt+Tab works alot better in WinXP then in WinME, but that might just be my case. Share this post Link to post
pRS317 0 Posted July 1, 2001 i don't have the expansion pack, but after installing the game, the video test fails saying there r no video modes and that i need drivers compliant with my version of direct x. odd, that is. i have the g2mx, and the drivers were installed with the os. pRS317 0 Posted July 1, 2001 i had 2 force the os 2 install newer drivers (12.90) and was able 2 complete the video test. dunno if this wud help u r not, but it's werth a shot. Share this post Link to post
Vampyr 0 Posted July 2, 2001 I had the problem where it would reboot during install. To remedy this install Diablo II in XP then reboot into Safemode to install the expansion. If you follow this method it will work like a charm. Share this post Link to post

borgzilla 0 Posted July 4, 2001 I also can run Diablo II LOD from XP however it's ugly cause there's no glide support. Share this post Link to post

Dragon-Lord 0 Posted July 27, 2001 Actually, the game is ugly period. Set it to 800x600 and at least the pixels will be smaller (harder to see). It is probably the ugliest graphics work (8 bit color and 640x480!???) I have seen in a decade. Fantastically and inexpicably unprofessional. But the gameplay rocks, so I play it a lot anyway... :} Share this post Link to post
sapiens74 0 Posted July 27, 2001 Was about to flame you then you totally redeemed yourself hehe. I like the gameplay too, and it runs fine for me with XP Share this post Link to post
Gemfire James 0 Posted July 29, 2001 if you have Nvidia-based card and SB Live, Blizzard says that you must have latest Nvidia and Creative drivers for this one error that happens. As far as saying "no video modes", try some of these. Right click on the "My Computer" Icon. Click on "Properties". Click on the "Performance" tab at the top. Click on the "Graphics" button on the bottom. Check to make sure the "Hardware Acceleration" is set to either "All accelerator functions", or "Most accelerator functions". If this is set to either "No accelerator functions", or "Basic accelerator functions" the video test will not find any video modes for Diablo II to run with. Enable DirectDraw & Direct3D Acceleration. Adjust the AGP/clk to 1/1 and the PCI/clk 1/3 in your BIOS. Make sure you have the latest video card drivers available from our drivers page (http://www.blizzard.com/support/diablo2/problems/drivers.shtml). Latest version of Direct X installed. Run dxdiag.exe and make sure video acceleration is not disabled. Check to make sure you have the latest driver for the monitor. Or monitor manufacturers driver installed. Share this post Link to post
