Trance 0 Posted July 8, 2001 Hi, Quake3 is not as fast as it should be! check: 1.27: 106 fps 1.17: 107 fps My specs: Win2k SP2 Asus A7V Duron 850Mhz @ 1071Mhz Asus v7700 GeForce2 GTS 32Mb (using Det 12.90) Micron CAS2 PC133 256Mb Maxtor 30Gb 7200 Help!! Could you please post your timedemos? Share this post Link to post
FadedTimes 0 Posted July 8, 2001 I have a similar setup than yours. What is your setting in quake3? resolution color debth? Any changes on the video card via the control panael like FSAA and antiospotic filtering? I can do a bunch of time deom's but would rather set everything like yours and do it. Trance 0 Posted July 8, 2001 quake is set at "normal" 800x600 (color dept is default) I timedemo demo001 in 1.17, 1.27, but for some reason I now get 114 fps in both demos. FSAA is off, vsync off, anisotropic is disabled Look at the score he's getting http://firingsquad.gamers.com/hardware/duron850/images/q3norm800.gif he's on win98 se, and using 6.31 drivers Share this post Link to post
FadedTimes 0 Posted July 8, 2001 seem to only be able to play some d34thm4tch demo on 1.29 I get 129 fps P3 800 @896Mhz, 384mb pc 133 cl2, Geforce 2 GTS 32mb, Maxtor 40gig 5400rpm ATA 100. Share this post Link to post
Trance 0 Posted July 8, 2001 I get 95fps in 800x600 and 87 fps in 1024 x 768 in that demo. A 35fps difference is a lot, I know quake3 is optimized for p3s but still. You got win2k installed in ACPI or Standard?? I gotta try reinstalling win2k in standard mode, I'm pretty sure that ACPI shiznit is messing things up, all those devices on IRQ9.... Almghty 0 Posted July 12, 2001 no offence intended but 1 fps difference? do you even notice? Share this post Link to post
JP- 0 Posted July 12, 2001 I dont think thats what he means, he means that the overall fps is not as high as other peoples, not the difference between the two versions. Correct me if im wrong Share this post Link to post
