I don't know if I switched the ide ports they were on but should that matter. In device manager they are listed with an "!" mark and it says some error about the driver. Anyone know how to fix this. EddiE314 0 Posted July 11, 2001 go to Device manager, delete the entries for the cdroms, ensure that the drives are set correctly (check jumpers)(master and slave). If that doesn't work you might want to try a format and reinstall. Share this post Link to post
PrinceAli0 0 Posted July 11, 2001 Hey, I've deleted and had windows re-detect the devices but it says there is still a problem and I can't get it to work. So what you're telling me is I should reinstall my OS just cause I unplugged all my devices clean the dust out and put them back in. Wow XP is way too sensitive. Any other ideas. Razmuz98 0 Posted July 11, 2001 Well....at first i gotta say that.....i ain´t gonna be of much help....!!! BUT I have experienced almost the same problem....with the difference in hardware....and that, the only thing i did was installing nero 5.5.3.0. burning software.....which didn´t work...so i removed it...and then the dvd and the cdrw-drives were missing ie. the drivers were´n there anymore !!!!!!! I still haven´t a clue what caused this....and i had to format me d: and re-install my XP rc1......PHU! sigh... Hope to see a solution.....because I darn to say...i´m certain this will REAPPEAR!...... Share this post Link to post
noname4u 0 Posted July 12, 2001 Have a MSI KT266Pro-Raid, Pioneer DVD-Rom and Plextor Burner. The only you have to do is to refresh the Device Manager (CDROM Chapter). Idon´t know why it is so, but so I don´t have problems (just a little bit stress everytime I want to use the DVD). Marcus Germany Share this post Link to post
