Sweevo 0 Posted July 16, 2001 What problems are you getting Which version of the wheel are you using? (USB or Gameport) What have you tried? Does it work on any other o/s? I have mine running (the gameport version) with no problems at all, although if you do a search of the boards you'll find plenty of others having problems with the wheel but they seem to be mainly with the USB version Share this post Link to post
electrifer 0 Posted July 16, 2001 It is the Game Port Version. This is the error I get when I Autorun the sidewinder CD v3.0 "A limitation exists with your computer's resources or configuration. Setup can't install SideWinder Game Controller Software on your current operating system. Check your SideWinder Game Controller Software product packaging for system requirements." My system Config is: AMD duron 800 cpu ABIT KT7 mobo 384Mb PC150 ram OS win2K retail lots of HDD space Whats the GO????? Share this post Link to post
Sweevo 0 Posted July 16, 2001 You should find that you don't have to install the drivers from the CD. If you go into your contol panel and select Game Controllers, click Add and select "Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto)" - you should find that it detects your wheel and allows you to configure it. It doesn't give you the sort of control that the drivers on your CD would have given you but it certainly worked for me. I've tested it with GP3/Rally Championship 2000 and Colin McRae 2 with no problems Share this post Link to post
kgeissler 0 Posted July 17, 2001 What version of DirectX do you have? My MS FF Wheel (USB Version) would not work till I loaded DX 8. Share this post Link to post
Sweevo 0 Posted July 17, 2001 Yeah - mine's v8 as well - I never tried the wheel with any older version. Share this post Link to post
