ralcar 0 Posted July 16, 2001 Im having trouble with Windows XP RC1, and logitech mouseware...the latest 9.29.2 is the only mouseware version that installs without complaining, but it still doesnt work very nice...i play counter-strike alot and the mouse doesnt follow small movements, and i cant seem to find my sensitivity even though i have everything set just as in windows 2000. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone have a fix for it? Share this post Link to post
fatattack 0 Posted July 18, 2001 this is correct. Half-life and counterstrike are just not playable because of the faulty mouse movements. However, I am not sure this is because of the logitech mouse driver. I have also tried the windows default driver and it gives the exact same results. Other games however play smooth as ever, like quake3, UT,... The problem might lie in the half life engine itself Anyways, being a cs player myself, it definetly sucks. If anyone knows a workaround to get the mouse moving smooth again, please let us know. Share this post Link to post
scattman 0 Posted July 20, 2001 I just thought of something I should have asked a while ago. I completely forgot about this known issue. Are you running the retail version of CS? (please tell me your version, as I think there is another that is affected) Are you using Nvidia? If so, are you using in-box drivers? If you said yes to those three questions, download the 12.41 drivers and try again. If not, have you tried another mouse? Share this post Link to post
harlekin 0 Posted July 20, 2001 is there no trick to use the win98 sensitivity in winxp ? its really weird... Share this post Link to post
fatattack 0 Posted July 28, 2001 I am running the HL 1.1.07 version with CS1.1 ( all mods for HL seem to be affected though) Nvidia GF2/MX400 No, I only own logitech mice because they are simply the best around ( personal opinion ) Btw (off topic) XP RC1 also has a problem with MX400 during install, the screen goes totally blank and that's it. Had to replace it with an older card then to get the Xp to install and then put it back in. Share this post Link to post
scattman 0 Posted July 28, 2001 I'm not suggesting you stop using Logitech, I'm just wondering if using another mouse solves this problem for you. If so we'll know it is a mouse problem, as opposed to a video driver problem. Share this post Link to post
fatattack 0 Posted July 31, 2001 great news: one of these three things solved my problem nvidia 12.41 (not alone cause tried that before) HL update 1108 Counterstrike v1.3 Don't ask me where they come from , I know they haven't been officially released but stumbled upon them by accident. Anyway, the mouse movenments are back to normal now. I think it's the HL patch that did the trick Hope everyone has the same good results. Share this post Link to post
