pr-man 1 Posted July 17, 2001 Guys I have a abit BE6 rev 1.01 with latest bios and running highpoint drivers 1.25 in Win2k and all is well with my WD 20.5 gig UDMA-66 5400rpm HD but I have just bought a new IBM Deskstar 75GXP 45 gig 7200rpm drive. Do I need to update my Highpoint drivers. Share this post Link to post
Busby 0 Posted July 17, 2001 Yes because there are incompatibilities with IBM Deskstar drives and HPT366 v 1.25. Goto www.highpoint-tech.com and download the 1.28 BETA drivers. Share this post Link to post
pr-man 1 Posted July 17, 2001 arents the 1.28 beta drivers slow as crap? Share this post Link to post
pr-man 1 Posted July 17, 2001 also the readme says: 1.25 should be fine Last Updated: 10/10/00 VERSION: FIX: 1.26b IBM DTLA (GXP75) series, ATA-100 drive compatibility with HPT366 controller (for Win98) 1.28b IBM DTLA (GXP75) series, ATA-100 drive compatibility with HPT366 controller (for Win2K, NT) Notes: 1) BIOS version 1.25 should be adequate for either of the above updates, but we recommend matching the HPT366 driver revision (or higher) with the corresponding BIOS version. BETA BIOS updates for PCI cards utilizing the HPT366 are posted on this website. Visit the manufacturer's web or FTP sites for motherboard/HPT366 combinations. Share this post Link to post
Busby 0 Posted July 18, 2001 The readme refers to the HPT BIOS and not the driver version. Only 1.28b will work with IBM drivers in the OS. As for speed, can't tell ya cause I've never used them. Share this post Link to post
