JMD 0 Posted July 24, 2001 Can anyone help with this problem. I posted earlier but no one was able to help. I got some more info on the problem maybe this will help. Thanks This is what Norton tells me the problem is. C:\PROGRA~1\Plus!\MICROS~1\Connection Wizard\ICWCONN2.EXE" cannot access a necessary file, "rasapi32.dll." This is what Norton says has to be done to fix it. rasapi32.dill might be located on a removable drive. A non-visible volume such as an NTSF drive or on a network. If c:\progra~1 plus!\micros~1\connection wizard\icwconn2.exe cannot find the file you might need to reinstall c:\progra~1\plus\micros~1 connection wizzard\icwconn2.exe. Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix it...please keep it simple. Thanks PS. i do have the dill it's requesting but that dosen't seem to help. Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted July 24, 2001 What exactly is the problem that triggered all this? Could you not use the Internet Connection Wizard? Is this Norton program one of those awful "system-medic" type programs? A couple of things you could check would be: a. Make sure that you have the file in the proper path that it's being sought after b. Make sure that it's the right version c. Make sure that the proper permissions are applied to it (generally, SYSTEM:Full Control should do it, plus it should inherit the permissions of the parent directory). Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted July 24, 2001 Don't worry about. Just because Norton Windoctor say's that it is a problem doesn't mean that is is. Norton Windoctor just scanned your registry and then tried to find the file that went with the registry entry. The registry entry is most likely invalid if the program works anyway. I wouldn't use Norton Windoctor anyway. It's vast inferior to the freeware programs at www.tweakfiles.com Share this post Link to post
JMD 0 Posted July 25, 2001 To tell you the truth I have no idea what triggered it, or how the file got deleated. I'm sure it's the right version clutch, but when I tried to put it in the NT system dill folder (as was suggested by someone else) I got a mean looking warning so I took it back out. All my programs seem to work, but the warning keeps comming up. Also I was working on one of my CAD programs, and twice I had a memory dump. so I'm wondering if this missing file could be causing that. AS far as A ANC C....Clutch I have no idea what your saying sorry haha don't know alot about computers. Cheers Share this post Link to post
JMD 0 Posted July 25, 2001 Ok guys. I moved the file into the c:\program 1\plus\micros 1 connection wizzard\icwconn2.exe folder. but still get the warning..I don't get it. Thought that would have solved the problem. Share this post Link to post
