IMAX 0 Posted July 27, 2001 I have a a problem with my USB I have updated my BIOS for my board and done everything I can think of to make the USB controller on the board to work. Windows 2000 does not know of the firmware for it. I have mailed the company who make the board and they said to either to update the BIOS or get service pack 2 I do not think servicepack 2 will help as I have done many boards of this make and I have had no problems with the USB, they have all installed no probs, I can not understand below the fault in device manager under properties: ***Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35) the chipset is 440agp Share this post Link to post

AndyFair 0 Posted July 30, 2001 Win2k is really fussy about hardware changes - I recently upgraded to PC133 RAM, and had to do a clean install because Win2k wouldn't boot. How many versions did you jump when you upgraded the BIOS? Like the man says, you might be better off doing a fresh install, and see whether that helps... AndyF Share this post Link to post
