Ali 0 Posted July 27, 2001 Hello there... this is my first time i'm putting a messame on this site. so please be kind enough to teach me the "norms" of this place!! Well I have win 2000 just installed last week on my computer. it has a troble with my ATI A-I-W 128pro. all the devices on the card works except the hardware video capture one ("VID_04PEID_80000020"). it is marked as an unknown hardware in device manager (under question mark). i have installed the latest DirectX that i could find on ati's website, but still there are no drivers available for that one. now somebody told me Win2000 IS NOT TOO GOOD FOR 2D AND MULTIMEDIA SUPPORT, 8) and IT DOES NOT SUPPORT MOST 2D HARDWARE ACCELERATORS. Is that true?? if yes what should i do with my computer then? references : http://www.ati.com http://www.thecomputermechanics.com Share this post Link to post
Ali 0 Posted July 27, 2001 Well,,,,, now that i see others are crying too, then i guess this is true. WIN 2K SUCKS IN GRAPHICS. i have tried win ME before it was OK for 2D. but i guess i'll wait to see WIN XP. Microsoft was too busy doing network that he forgot to care about this part... AH...Like if they care... PUNKS!!!!! Share this post Link to post
Yankee 0 Posted August 3, 2001 Have you also installed the Video Capture update for DX8? According to Microsoft ATI All-In-Wonder, VIVO, or TV tuner cards using MMC 7.1 or higher will benefit from the update. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted August 3, 2001 2000 does not suck for video encoding cards. ATI does however and most likely always will. Hauppauge cards work fine in 2000 however. Share this post Link to post
