ftmiranda 0 Posted July 31, 2001 Hello, I have 3 Harddisks! 2 of them are connected to my onboard RAID controller. Se third one is connected to the IDE0 in my motherboard. I installed Windows2000 Pro in the RAID HDs, at this time this HDs had the Active partition... But now I changed the Active partition to the IDE0 HD and installed Windows 2000 Server there... On the BIOS if I choo to boot from HDD0 I go to Windows2000Server, if I choose SCSI (ULTRA ATA RAID) I log into the Windows2000 PRO. Is there anyway that I could set the (IDE HDD0) to be the bootable drive, with a menu that would include windows2k Pro and Server options? The reason that I need the IDE0 to be bootable is besause I always wipe up the windows2K Pro with a Norton Ghost image, so that's why I wnat to put the Menu option as long as the boot information on the IDE0 not on the RAID partition.... Does anyone knows what I'm talking about? If yes I would really aprecciate your help!! Thank you !! FTM Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted July 31, 2001 You can set the priority of IDE/IDE RAID boot options in the BIOS of your mobo. You can modify each boot.ini on the IDE/RAID HD's to point to the other but to boot from 1 or the other you'll have to go into the bios. Share this post Link to post
Atreyu 0 Posted July 31, 2001 And if that doesn't work, you can briefly disconnect your RAID setup so that your IDE0 is the only thing plugged in, run Win2k setup and select "repair".. and have it repair the boot environment. Hmm.. only problem then is it might get confused, since you will now have two bootable drives. Hmm. Just a thought I had. Share this post Link to post
