pmistry 0 Posted August 5, 2001 I am considering getting a Maxtor ATA-100 card to speed up my system, my hard disk is ATA-100 ready. Right now I am transferring at ATA 66, I also could use the extra ports. But anyway I have Win2k installed on my primary hard disk using the mainboard controllers if I get the ATA 100 card and hook the drive up to that will Win2k boot from it after I set my BIOS to boot from it? Because usually in the Win2k install you have press F6 to load a third party driver, how do i do this with Win2k already loaded? Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted August 6, 2001 If you have Win2k installed already, install the drivers before putting in the card. Install drivers, reboot, shutdown, insert card, connect drive, boot up. Drivers first...card second. Do it just like above and things should work fine. Share this post Link to post
