Brian Frank 0 Posted August 12, 2001 I do know that Pioneer makes one just under $1000 USD. Unfortunately, I can't remember which issue of a magazine I saw this in. Otherwise I could tell you the number for it. I'd check their website and look around. I also think LaCie is making one--but they tend to make some pretty expensive models, and they're usually SCSI only, which is probably a good thing for DVD burners. Other than that, I don't think I've heard to much about 'em other than that these companies make them. I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now. Share this post Link to post
miku 0 Posted August 12, 2001 Thanks Brain for replying. I have searched the web for some including Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi and Pioneer, all of them under $1000 with a write speed of 2x. It is just hard for me figure out, which one to buy. If you could help, it would be great. A site with review could be helpful. Thanks. ARC Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted August 13, 2001 You can get one thoses Pioneer DVR-AO3 for $800 at BestBuy or VideoGuys but beware a lot Home DVD Play don't works with DVD-R nor RW disk. You also need DVD Authoring software something like DVDit or something like it. Then going need a MPEG2 capture also beware min of the so call DV capture are doing in software translations to MPEG2 which can be very slow. If you need Realtime DV translations to MPEG2 support here your option Pinnacle DC1000 but then againe maybe be this one to Pinnacle Pro-ONE. If not super pickeee then go for WinTV-PVR or Dazzle Digital Video Creator 2 for lot less cost. Note you going have a long wait drivers & app by going with WinXP Share this post Link to post
