pr-man 1 Posted August 13, 2001 I have heard that 256 megs is the sweet spot for Win2k. I have 192 megs now and was going to add another 256 megs. Will that be too much? Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted August 13, 2001 I haven't seen any problems with adding a ton of memory to workstations, but unless you are doing memory intensive tasks (extensive compiling, database development on the workstation, CAD/CAM, etc) then I think anything beyond 256MB would be the point of diminished returns. I use 384MB on my workstations, with a minimum of 256MB for any machine that I would use normally. Share this post Link to post

ri-rilot 0 Posted August 13, 2001 1280MB (2 x 512 + 1 x 256) does me nicely. I am a musician and I frequently do edits of VERY large WAV files. Much nicer to do them in RAM rather than thrash that HDD. Share this post Link to post
