jimmytim903 0 Posted August 15, 2001 setting up triple boot Win2k, Winxp and Win98se: I had a chinese game that will only run in win98, but I'm currently running dual boot Win2k/Winxp. Current config: C Drive => Win2K installation D Drive => WinXP installation I don't want to delete the installation to install win98 from scratch, so if I add a third hard disk drive as E Drive, how can I install win98se to E and make it a triple boot system? Seldzar 0 Posted August 15, 2001 Make winXP Emergency repair disk start/programs/accessories/system tools/backup or copy setup.log, autoexec.nt and config.nt from x:\windows\repair Install win98 to the new drive after all is installed boot with winxp cd, do an emergency repair. In the repair select repair bootsector or something similar(there should be 2 boot options to repair, select both and uncheck the others) Let it repair the bootsector and reboot, it should give you back the dual boot menu, if you don't have win98 in that menu add it manually editing the boot.ini on your c:\ Share this post Link to post

fatattack 0 Posted August 16, 2001 yes the procedure is about right, it's a quick repair you need. That way your bootsector will be once again be replaced by a NT bootsector and show the bootmanager Share this post Link to post
