reversing_drive 0 Posted August 19, 2001 I will often browse through the latest computer catelogues checking out models and prices. What i really don't understand is WHY ARE ALL THE LAPTOPS COMING OUT WITH WINME For exampel, in Dell's latest catelogue, it has written on the bottom of every page "Dell Recommends Windows 2000 for Business" Yet most of the laptops they sell com with WinME. With Win2K's proven stability, security & compatibility (Yes Compatiblity ) & improved power saving features, why would anyone buy a laptop with WinME, with no security, short on stability & bloated media software? Heck, buggers me Share this post Link to post
INFERNO2000 0 Posted August 20, 2001 it's fine with me! I'd have to format anyway....and Win2K is more expensive than Win9x. As long as the laptop is 2K compatible, I'm fine with it. in fact...my 9x/Me Toshiba is about 600 less than the next model up-which does have 2k Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted August 20, 2001 If you go to the small business or corporate sales sections of these sites, you will usually see Win2K on those boxes. I get IBM ThinkPads and Dell Laptops with Win2K pretty easily. Share this post Link to post
