bscriv 0 Posted August 20, 2001 I just purchased a Seasound Solo Ex hard disk recorder for my computer yesterday, which will allow me to record CD quality music on my computer. It consists of a breakout box with preamps and inputs for my instruments and it also comes with software and a PCI card. While reading through the manual, I noticed it was only good for Windows 95-98SE. I am running Windows 2000 Professional. I checked out their website and the company has gone out of business and wil not ber releasing the drivers for 2000/ME. So, my question is, do I take this back, or wait until XP arrives? I signed up to be a beta tester, but I wanted to ask anyone out there if you think the "AppFix" function on XP will allow me to successfully emulate 98 in order to get this thing running. OLEerror 0 Posted August 20, 2001 The chances that it will work in Windows XP are pretty slim. I'd suggest taking it back. If you wait until the end of October, you may find you're stuck with a piece of equipment you can't use. Another option would be to dual-boot with Windows 98. If you have a copy floating around you may want to try it to see how well it works. Share this post Link to post
FatFish 0 Posted August 20, 2001 I think the 9x driver won't work on XP. XP use the drivers from 2K not 9x. the compatible mode can only trick a program not the hardware drivers. Share this post Link to post
