mdecker 0 Posted August 20, 2001 Hi. I just installed 2K, SP2, DX8 and I am trying to get an old Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24 single-slot Voodoo2 SLI card to work properly without success. I found Anthony Toste's Obsidian2 driver set--a valiant effort, by the way--but no luck. When the cad does install, SLI isn't recognized. Plus, boot-ups are always greeted by creative error messages like "Mapmem returned an error trying to map memory" or "Mapmem driver initialization error" or "An exception occurred while trying to run 3dfxv2ps.dll,UpdateRegSettings". Am I stupid, or is this hadware just too old for an up-to-date Win2K installation? Any clues on what to do? By the way, I also tried the plain, old V2 drivers from www.3dfx.com. Thanks in advance. mdecker 0 Posted August 21, 2001 Thanks for replying. I tried those drivers without luck. I'l use the uninstall instructions to clean out whatever might be left on my system and try again. If I can't get it working, I might be interested in selling. Share this post Link to post
