fatattack 0 Posted August 21, 2001 Does anyone know how to get Visual studio 6 working under XP ? I know beta 2 of visual studio.net works but for some compatibility issues I need V6 on my system. It hangs during setup. Anyone successfully installed it ? Share this post Link to post

The Source Safe seemed to cause crash - at least its folder was fully messed up. I run scandisk and deleted that folder. Then I manually cleaned registry (big job!). I then intalled only Visual Basic. It went ok. Then I used add/remove components and added Source Safe but only with support to new database format - without backward compatibility. It went ok too. That was enough with me. The conlusion I got was that backward compatibility of Source Safe caused problems... Share this post Link to post
