Draftsman 0 Posted August 23, 2001 Can I export my messages if I needed to reinstall my OS or reformat? And then import them? If so, I've NEVER found out how. Thanks Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted August 23, 2001 you can't do it explicitely, but you can brute force it. The files with all your messages are under "\Documents and Settings\josh\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E82A9E1E-71FA-4367-B030-69A6C73F0C3B}\Microsoft\Outlook Express" That ID# (in red) most likely varies from system to system, but it is always the only folder underneath identities. Dirty Harry 0 Posted August 23, 2001 The easy solution is to get a great little shareware proggy called Outlook Backup Express 2.0 from http://www.genie-soft.com/. Another alternative I've done was (if I recall correctly) to reinstall OE, recreate all the folders you had them (exactly) and then overwrite them with the old folders. If you look in Tools - Options - Maintenance you will see a button "Store Folder" wich lets you define where the messages are. They are all in the *.dbx format. H. Share this post Link to post
