help! needed

i can't start MW4 with or without patches

my system hangs "w2k Pro with SP2"

i tried it on my other computer Celeron 500 Intel 440 ZX mobo 128Mb ram Voodoo 3300 Win98se

SB 128 6GB HD and it works just fine

 

but in my new system it wont work

i getting different errors eg STOP: this is isnt a database

STOP: EAX "i know it is for the audio"

different errors

sometimes just a FINE DAMN BLUE SCREEN grrr

i want it to work in this system so i can enjoy all the graphics GOODIES

 

i dont experience any probs with other games "CFS 1&2 Max Payne Operation Flashpoint etc" just this one

The Paging file may be too small. Ram may be overclocked. Those screen messages refer to memory problems, not to EAX for SBLive.

Install Direct X 8.1 latest release (Build 682). Update Motherboard Bios and change graphics driver.

nope i tried all that

my paging file is 768mb "twice the size of my ram its fixed"

i also have the latest BIOS for my mobo

my drivers ar nVida 1241 whql and the hardware isnt any wrong with

since i tried it in Win98se enviroment

MechWarrior 4 runs very smooth it runs really good

but i want it to run in Win2000Pro

i run multiple boot Win98se & Win2000Pro wit SP2

i tried with or without SP 1 and 2 doesnt matter the same error

DirectX8,0 and i also upgraded my Drivers for the audocard but no

note that all my other games as Q3 + all the mods, Half-Life +mods

Combat Flight Simulator 2, Operation Flashpoint,Aliens Versus Predator

Soldier of Fortune and so on this list can be long

they run perfectly in Win2000Pro SP2 and also runs perfekt in Win98se

Mechwarrior4 runs perfekt in Win98se but not at all in Win2000Pro

and w2k is a fresh install "that includes a formatted hd"

Maybe both AMD and Via (4in1) drivers could be updated since this problem with MW4 first does not seem to be hardware related and second graphic and sound drivers are OK.

 

Those AMD AGP patches and the Via drivers directly impact the correct functioning of processor registers.

 

Get the recent Beta patch that updates the game to Version 2.0:

Use the Via 4-in-1 patch, version 4.29a The 4.3x series is very buggy, and causes system crashes.

nope didnt work those VIAs 4in1 idea got the same error

 

my drivers are VIA 4in1 432 "i tried the 429" didnt work

graphics driver are nVidias 1241 "had before 1290" the same errors

upgraded my sound card but no isnt that either

running DirectX8 havent upgraded it yet to 8,1

i tried also with or witout the patch but no

i cant apply the patch 2,0 since i get error 036

that cause i have the nordic version of MW4

 

argh! cant understand why it runs perfect on the same mashine under Win98se with the same rev of drivers

i fixed it

it was the display driver all the time

belive me i tried several versions but none worked so i vent up to Detonator 14xx that solved all my probs

so im runnin Detonator 12.10 WHQL
