Adagio 0 Posted August 29, 2001 Hi there, I'm using the german version of WinXP RC1 (RC2 is *not* available for german customers). Today, the german version of IE6 was released, and I tried to install it. Everything went fine during setup - but when it tried to install Windows Scripting Support, WinXP complained that it failed the WinXP Logo test and is not compatible. It stopped the setup I tried to do it several times, but it fails at this point. Whats wrong? Any suggestions? Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted August 30, 2001 Maybe I'm wrong here, but XP comes with IE6... IE6 is for Win2k, and while XP and 2k are similar, I believe that there are enough differences that not everything may work correctly when not made specifically for the OS. Share this post Link to post
Adagio 0 Posted August 30, 2001 You're right, WinXP comes with IE6.0 - but in current RC1 and RC2 version of WinXP, only the *beta* version is included. Not the full release! IE6 is for any Windows - 98, ME, 2k and XP. I tried to install the english version, which worked without problems. I think there must be some kind of bug in the install of the german release ... who knows? Share this post Link to post
