kingtrey 0 Posted September 10, 2001 i got 'em too; haven't installed them yet ... how are they working? Share this post Link to post
Xiven 0 Posted September 10, 2001 YES! They've finally fixed the problems with refresh rates on certain monitors that were introduced by the 7.xx series drivers. Don't need powerstrip any more... Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted September 11, 2001 About a 12% increase in framerate for Q3 for me. It seems even smoother using my tweaked config (removes a good deal of detail, increases FOV, etc). Share this post Link to post
sapiens74 0 Posted September 11, 2001 Tried it on Everquest as well. with 4x AA enabled. Works great, finally no missing inventory with AA enabled. Share this post Link to post
FrogMaster 0 Posted September 11, 2001 It seems improvement is similar to the one we saw long ago between the 5.xx and 6.xx series. - Quake 3: +10 to +12% faster and very smooth in all circumstances - 3dmark2000: roughly +500 points - 3dmark2001: crashes to desktop when starting dragotic high detail scene - UT: no change really noticeable in d3d, maybe a little bit smoother; opengl is ugly with very heavy banding and saturated colors, looking like running in 256 colors (that old UT engine!) VGLMark: confirms Q3 results, 10/12% faster, gorgeous display. Well, a little goodie for free better ogl, who would complain? Share this post Link to post

Cryptonium 0 Posted September 11, 2001 My 3DMark score jumped from 4755 (12.41) to 5981 (21.81). This is on an Athlon 1.4 with Visiontek GF3 under Win2k with the system having 512MB of ram. Share this post Link to post
Dirty Harry 0 Posted September 11, 2001 My score on 3Dmark 2001 went DOWN, 12.90 - 3484 20.81 - 3240 Not that significant, but still. Anyone have an idea what to tweak ? Gambler FEX online 0 Posted September 12, 2001 Det4 are mostly geforce 3 optimizations. Now finally driver for Gf3 have come out of beta and are being optimized. Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted September 12, 2001 Dirty Harry: I had to retweak everything when I installed the new drivers before things were back to normal again. Share this post Link to post
Powermike 0 Posted September 17, 2001 Hm, no really performance gain here, +80 (3660) points in 3DMark2001, -50 points in 3DMark2000 (7620). And I got problems with my favorite game, Ubisoft F1 Racing Championship: Seems to run very smooth, but can start the game only once, secon time I get a lockup. So went back to the 12.90... Powermike P.S.: Nice to meet you again, Frogmaster :-) Share this post Link to post
