BVH 0 Posted September 16, 2001 I just put win XP 2600 PRO on my PC and it all worked fine how ever I notice some things seemed a bit jumpy. I soon saw after playing quake 3 that every 3 seconds there is a very small pause. I don’t see it as much just using windows, except when I scroll a page or move a window. But the real impact is in games! I am running: p3 800 256mb of RD RAM (dam you DELL for making me buy it!!) 20gig WDC 12 gig quantum fireball 80 gig WDC sb live! Geforce 256 with 2181 drivers I all so have 2k and XP running of the same drive (the 20 gig). IS my PC not powerful enough to run XP?? BVH 0 Posted September 18, 2001 That’s good to see. However I'm using the new 21.80 drivers from nvidia but I don’t think creative has posted any drivers for a sb live under XP (yet). I all so don't think it would be sound card as all sounds play fine. My MP3s play with out skipping witch is a good sing. It's just a small pause every 3 secs in any thing visual. I guess I could try formatting my PC in installing XP by it's self but now is not a good time with all the work I have to do for Uni. Do you have any other suggestions? Share this post Link to post

BVH 0 Posted September 18, 2001 Yer I took a look. As far as I know the sb live fix is for getting quadraphonic sound going a part from that they aren’t really drivers. All so I gave the ASPI Drivers for XP a bash but that didn’t do any thing. As for the nvidia drivers well I all ready got them well thanks any way. BVH 0 Posted September 20, 2001 well I formated my pc and put only XP on. Still not improvement. I was under the idea it may have been my CMD ata 100 card but taken it out and uninstialling it's drivers did'nt do jack. Looks like I'll have to go back to win 2k till Oct. 25 to see if any driver up dates come out or more support. Share this post Link to post
BVH 0 Posted September 29, 2001 Well I found out what was slowing my pc down. It was the 21.81 video drivers. After putting Xp back on and installing every thing bar the video driver I haven't gotten one any pauses. Share this post Link to post
