Sinster 0 Posted September 20, 2001 I can't connect to any IRC server at all. When connecting it just sits there and sits there and then finally after about 5 minutes I get a time out error. This is from a fresh install of XP. Does anyone have a fix? or might have and idea how to fix? Share this post Link to post
JBoDEAN 0 Posted September 20, 2001 mIRC works fine in xp. Try redownloading / reinstalling it. There are absolutely ZERO known issues with mIRC and Windows XP Share this post Link to post

Emilee1 0 Posted September 21, 2001 Mine will sit there for about 2 mins, then connect. Its because of the firewall, if I disable it, it connects in 1 sec just like on any other OS. Share this post Link to post
Spuddeh 0 Posted September 25, 2001 The solution is very simple, you goto networking, and goto the proporties of the connection you're using to connect to the internet, then you goto the far right tab (i'm not in XP at the momment, and i cant remember the tabs name ) and disable the personal firewall. i believe it blocks identd ports etc preventing the irc server allowing you to make a connection Share this post Link to post
