Roltec 0 Posted September 20, 2001 I get this error message when I install winxp 2600, it comes after the first reboot. Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll Please re-install a copy of the file above. Does this have anything too do with my motherboard? My spec is following I have tried bios 3R and now 3R03 the same fault. Abit KT7-RAID Athlon/T-Bird 1.3 GHz OEM (200MHz bus) Cooler Master CPU-Vifte Socket A/7/FCPGA support upto 1,4Ghz Original SDRAM PC133 256MB 7-7,5ns memory 168-P 3.3V Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB Creative PCI SB Live! 1024 l SMC Kort EZ Card 10/100 PCI TPO Nettverk Full Duplex Western Digital 80 Gig Anyone have this problem? FatFish 0 Posted September 20, 2001 your system spec is fine, however someone has problem installing with RAID setup on this forum. But if the error comes after the first reboot, you probably has a bad copy of winxp. Share this post Link to post
Roltec 0 Posted September 21, 2001 I have tried earlier beta's with XP and the same thing then. And i have disabled RAID controller in the bios, so that shouldn't have anything to say, should it? Share this post Link to post
