ancker 0 Posted October 4, 2001 I installed the newest set of drivers that were supposed to fix a problem i was having. I cannot boot into win2k server AT ALL. No safe mode, no debugging mode. Nothing will work. I'm assuming my last line of action is the Recovery Console. I have no experience with this tool. Could someone please help me out in how i would go about disabling the drivers so i can boot normally? BTW. i went to the 1.25.1 Drivers from HPT for my HPT366 controller on my Abit BE6. when i boot it hangs at the graphical progress bar. and the HDD LED is solid. when i boot safe mode it hangs at the non graphical progress bar at 100% and the HDD light is Solid. I KNOW it is a problem with the drivers..because that is what i had just installed. Can anyone help me out? Please give detailed instructions on how to use the Recovery Console. thanks Ancker Share this post Link to post
kgeissler 0 Posted October 4, 2001 You have to install it of the Win2k CD. The only thing is, you have to do it in Windows. Best thing to do is install it right after you install windows. Share this post Link to post
ancker 0 Posted October 4, 2001 Thanks for your reply. But you are incorrect. It doesn't have to be installed in windows. You simply boot off the Win2k (server for me) cd. hit "r" to repair hit "c" to use the console then let it run then i used "help" to list the commands then i used "listsvc" to list the services and drivers that are set to run at boot then i used "disable hpt366" to turn off the new drivers i installed then i rebooted and got into windows and installed a "working" version of the drivers. So My problem is resolved. Thanks Ancker Share this post Link to post
