shassouneh 0 Posted October 7, 2001 Hi everyone, I just bought a new motherboard/processor/RAM. It comes with a built-in LAN card. Does anyone happen to know what make/model it is? I need to know so i can set the right Linux kernel module for it to connect to the internet /network!!! Note: The motherboard is an ECS k7S5a (Athlon thunderbird 1.4GHZ). running Linux Mandrake 8.0 Somebody please help! PS: is there a generic LAN driver i can use insted? Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted October 7, 2001 I could be mistaken, but it appears that the LAN is integrated into the 735 chip, leaving you with 2 options: see if SiS has Linux drivers, or if the open source community comes up with anything--this includes you writing a driver for it. shassouneh 0 Posted October 8, 2001 I c. I checked the SiS web site. They're a bit stingy with drivers. They also have no intentions to support the drivers available on their web site as they claim that other parties have created them!!! I hope the linux community comes up with something very soon, as I am not sklled enough to write my own drivers (at least not just yet)! Share this post Link to post
