someone help. MPS in XP

Recommended Posts

Ok, I currrently have 2k and XP dual booted. I wanted to try XP out before I abandon my trusty 2000. In Device Manager my computer is listed and MPS multi processor PC.

When i try to change the Driver the only options i get are MPS uniproc. and Standard PC. No ACPI MULTIPROCESSOR or any other flavors. AT ALL

I want ACPI, is there a way to force ACPI ??

Also, when i play CS or Quake I will get random freezes (but thats another thread,)

Could my CS freezes be attributed to the MPS ? and can my lack of kernal options be because i am DUAL booting ?

here is my system specs.

Tyan Thunder 100 @ 112 440BX chipset

2 P3 550's Slot 1

Winfast Geforce 2 GTS 32MB

Soundblaster Live

1024 mb PC 133 MICRON

40 GIG's HDD's

Promise UDMA 66

DVD/CDRW drives

NIC and a IDE ZIP 100

Thanks to all, Sparkhard
