shassouneh 0 Posted October 15, 2001 Hey all, is there a way to set/cjange desktop themes in windows XP?? If so, how? Share this post Link to post
Xiven 0 Posted October 15, 2001 Start -> Run -> "themes" Or create a shortcut to it. Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted October 15, 2001 Nope! I already tried that. It seems to be a win2k-only thing. I even looked for "themes.exe" in the windows FIND applet to no avail! I repeat: START -> RUN -> THEMES DOES NOT WORK!!! Share this post Link to post
Xiven 0 Posted October 15, 2001 Oh well. No idea then. Actually, have you tried copying the Win2k themes.exe to XP? Just a thought. Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted October 15, 2001 hmm, what exactly is windowsblinds? (pardon my ignorance). I don't think copying themes.exe will solve it, but i'll give it a shot sometime. Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted October 16, 2001 Thanx but i can't afford it just yet. I'm still open to suggestions about resolving the desktop themes issue under WinXP Share this post Link to post
TeRRiblE 0 Posted October 16, 2001 As far as I know there are no desktop themes (wallpaper, icons, sounds and window color) included in XP. Windows XP plus! pack will offer a cuple of themes like space, nature and so on.. (including mediaplayer skins), but is not free. Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted October 16, 2001 I see. thanx! I'll wait for Plus pack Share this post Link to post

shassouneh 0 Posted October 17, 2001 Thanx anyways dude! I'll give it a shot. worse case scenario is another format eh? LOL Share this post Link to post
brainsoft 0 Posted October 20, 2001 The XP Theme support IS WindowBlinds. MS licensed the technology from Stardoc. You can should be able to use WindoeBlind themes directly in WinXP. The themes settings should be in Display Properties (right click desktop > properties) Share this post Link to post
isochar 0 Posted October 20, 2001 For those of you confused by this, read this essay by Brad Wardell of Stardock: http://www.stardock.com/stardock/articles/xpskinning.html Share this post Link to post
