enio 0 Posted October 21, 2001 im on xp, instaled whql sblive drivers that are floating around and now i got some file i cant get rid of.file is in c:\windows\prefetch and it' called devldr32-XXXXXX dunno, cant erase it, cant replace it cant do anything with it it says that is used by other aplication or something.is there a way to do it in dos(and how, what commands)I have sensitive data on my hard so clean install is not an option and i need to get rid of the heel file pronto. lsmeg 0 Posted October 22, 2001 First, write down the exact file name. Boot up on the WinXP CD, and select recovery console. I believe you have to log in with the administrator account. When it's done booting up and logging in, type the following: del c:\windows\prefetch\FILENAME Where FILENAME is the exact name of the file you wrote down. Hope this helps.
