susana 0 Posted October 24, 2001 I've formatted my drive C:, set the bios to recognise CD-rom at startup, reboot. The installation of Windows begins but locks up during setup. What is the problem? My system: Athlon 1-4 Ghz, Nvidia, 512 ram,40 MG hard drive... Any help would be welcome. 8) Share this post Link to post
Roltec 0 Posted October 24, 2001 I have read about this problem so many times in this forum now and its always suggested and said that its your copy of winxp, so try too make a new copy and maybe that will help. There is also a file called crc.exe that you could run too check if your copy of winxp is good, but i do not know where that file is, do not think its on the winxp cd. Hope it helps some. Bursar 0 Posted October 24, 2001 Is your system overclocked? I had a problem installing XP whilst running my 1.2 CPU at 10x140. I knocked the FSB back to 133 and it all installed fine. After the installation, I put the FSB back to 140 and it runs like a dream. Share this post Link to post
