rickh 0 Posted October 25, 2001 Can anyone assist please? Upgraded from W98 to XP Pro, all devices in W98 were working ok. XP upgrade went ok except that now sound is distorted - sounds "scratchy", kinda hi-pitched. All devices ok in Device manager, no conflicts. Abit KT7A, Tbird 1.3, 256Mb, SB PCI64 sound etc. MS Knowledgebase no help. Reboots no help, problem is consistent. No XP driver update on Creative website either. Thanx for any assist... nix1 0 Posted October 27, 2001 Hi There I've the exactly the same problem, have you resolved it yet? I see the soundcard drivers for Xp havent come out as yet for the PCI64 card which really does suck!. Regards Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted October 27, 2001 some people get this problem under Windows 2000 with any SB PCI card, whether it is PCI64, PCI 128, and PCI 512. Just hope that Creative will address the issue, but I feel that they are ignorant sluts. Share this post Link to post
rickh 0 Posted October 28, 2001 And.... how long have they (Creative) had to come up with drivers? soundblaster.com advises "late October to mid November" for drivers. I've uninstalled xp and backed off from the bleeding edge! Share this post Link to post
Ekstreme 0 Posted October 29, 2001 I had this prob under 2k many many moons ago. The best thing to a fix I could get was to drop the hardware acceleration back a notch or two. Share this post Link to post
