Champion_R 0 Posted October 25, 2001 Its NOT offical. I got it from a site. Its ripped from win XP but it ****s up ya system files though. I wanna know if it possible to use it without killing ya system files Share this post Link to post
*Iblis* 0 Posted October 25, 2001 haven't tried this but it might just work: back up your sfc.dll, install wmp8, copy the files it changes into the winnt/system32/dllcache folder (this is where win2k looks for files that have been changed) and also in your winnt/servicepackfiles folder if you've got one, then put sfc.dll back. win2k will probably pop up a box saying different files have been found and you need to insert the cd, say no and agree to leave these changed files alone. sorted i used a similar approach to replace the explorer.exe with a hacked version that allows 256-colour icons in the system tray, i guess installing wmp8 would be the same kinda thing but on a larger scale.
