waxor 0 Posted October 27, 2001 Is anyone else getting this problem? I just installed the new XP drivers released by Creative, and whenever I try to open up the Speakers option in the AudioHQ program my system will crank away for a short bit then report that 'Creative Sound Mixer has encountered a problem and needs to close.' I've tried all kinds of stuff, from reinstalling the sound drivers to reinstalling the web update.. I can't think of much else to do. Anyone have any ideas? Share this post Link to post
Xiven 0 Posted October 29, 2001 Yeah, I've had that with LiveWare, doesn't seem to be any way around it. May depend on which driver set you downloaded (there are several at the moment) Anyway, that's why I stay away from it as much as possible. The WHQL drivers with XP work just fine in digital surround sound for me so I'm sticking with them. Share this post Link to post
arioch 0 Posted October 31, 2001 Apparently, if you go to the program files\creative\sblive\surroundmixer\ directory and go into compatibility options for "ctsurmix.exe" and change it to emulate win2000, then the speakers option will work correctly Share this post Link to post
