Windows 2000 with an old computer

Recommended Posts

Hello ;(

I'm running Windows 2000 on my Pentium 133 mhz with 128 MB RAM.

I'm only using it for running couple of IRC bots 24/7 and sometimes surfing the web. I haven't found it being too slow, but if you have any tips to disable some useless stuff, please tell me. It's ONLY being used for internet surfing/e-mail reading/running the irc bots.

Thanks in advance. laugh

The RAM is above the minimum, but the CPU is the bare minimum required to run---which isn't that big of a deal. When you have a few extra $$ to spend, look into buying a slightly faster CPU for more speed. That, and if you're using SDRAM, might want to bump it up a little more. Yer lookin' at no more than USD$50 total. Don't spend more than that.

A hardware upgrade would do you more good than turning off services.
